About Artist - Alison Field
|
Alison Field was born in West Germany in 1973, the daughter of an RAF officer. Having moved between Britain and Germany until her ninth birthday, her secondary school education was undertaken in a small English speaking school in Qatar, an independent Middle Eastern State in the Arabian Gulf.
Summers in Qatar were lengthy and hot. Expatriates returned to their home countries during a two-month period, these summer trips always incorporated detours to visit various continents. As a result this period between the ages of nine and sixteen provided Alison with an invaluable introduction to many cultures and influences.
At sixteen Alison left her parent’s home in Qatar to undertake A-levels in Bath, Avon and continued her education in Sydney Place, an Art Foundation College also in Bath. She went on to graduate in 1995 with an Interior Design BA (Hons), from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, University College.
Now working full-time for a fitted furniture manufacturer Alison has recently resumed painting in Watercolours and Acrylics to provide a creative escape. Her varied subject matter shows a variety of foreign influences as a result of her upbringing. Alison has exhibited around Dorset.
