About Artist - Pete Carter
|
'Born and educated in Lincoln, Pete began drawing and painting almost as soon as he could hold a pencil and brush. He had his work in competitions when he was still in primary classes and art remained his favourite subject right the way through school.
Part of his career was spent in a graphic design workshop where his job included various aspects of Design including Signwriting. He went from there to work for the Health sevice helping to teach psychiatric patients printing skills. Unfortunately whilst working in this field, he contracted M.E. and eventually had to finish work altogether. Shortly after, he was offered a Degree course at "Lincoln college of art," but had to turn it down after trying a Foundation course to see how he got on and having to leave after a couple of months because of his health.
He didn't paint much for some time and then, saw some miniature paintings by chance on the internet, and it "whetted his appetite" and he thought he would give them a go.
He soon had work in exhibitions for miniatures and has enjoyed several years successfully exhibiting as a member of both the "Hilliard Society" and the "Society of Limners."
Although he loves painting miniatures he is enjoying painting "Big" again. Pete has work in several private collections.'
