I began painting in oil and then acrylic and did mostly seascapes, country cottages and a few attempts at portraits.
In recent years I have run Art & Craft Workshops at Harbour House in Kingsbridge, Devon.During this time I became fascinated by watercolour. I have exhibited and sold some work at Harbour House and the local Art Club exhibitions.
My main setback as regards painting has been lack of confidence in my ability. Recently, however this has changed due to feedback (and sales!) on some portraits I have done.
Now, I have gone back to acrylic on fairly large chunky box canvases and my main subject interests are portraits and surrealism. I tired of painting Pretty Pictures and need to do something more imaginative. I now have plenty of time to do this.'
