Having foolishly made myself redundant two years ago I was persuaded to try and make a go of setting up as a self employed artist drawing commissions of peoples pets, children or anything they required from photographs. This has proved to be a lot slower than anticipated and in between commissions I’ve found myself drawing examples of my work for art exhibitions and advertising reasons.
My work is all graphite pencil (black and white) drawings. At the end of May this year I appeared on Channel 4 live on the programme ‘Rise’ where I had to hand over a drawing of the presenter I had drawn, a couple of weeks later I was at the Big Brother house delivering the drawing of the first person to get evicted, the plan was to draw all the contestants as they got voted off and the drawings to be handed over as presents. However, after a lot of messing about they said they would not get shown on television ‘but by all means draw the rest of the contestants’. Needless to say, one was all I drew….’
